A Heavenly Reunion: Reflections on Love, Loss, and Redemption

Last night, I experienced a dream that unfolded like a gripping thriller movie, complete with an emotionally charged climax. In this dream, I found myself in a mysterious lobby, a waiting area on the threshold between the realms of Heaven and Hell. Behind one door loomed a staircase leading downwards to Hell, a sight I dared not even glance at. Instead, I instinctively chose the door that promised ascent, the door to Heaven. Yet, strangely, the stairs behind it descended. Undeterred, I pushed open the door and began my descent. With each level I descended, passing through successive doors, I became aware of two guardians trailing me, brandishing coat hangers…

The Christian Testimony of Nabeel Qureshi

This is an older video on YouTube, and Dr. Nabeel Qureshi has since gone to be with the Lord, but I recently discovered this channel and this video. His story is a lot like mine except he has way more degrees than I do and I converted from atheism instead of Islam. What was similar is that we were debating with someone about Christianity and questioning world views, went off to research and learn more about it, and eventually found and accepted the truth. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks…

    Is Evil From God?

Looking at the world and seeing all this sickness and suffering, one has to question where all this evil comes from.  From a Christian’s point of view, God created the world and everything in it.  So, did God create evil as well? 17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. 18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat…

    Merry Christmas!

This has been a crazy year, filled with ups and downs and some scary moments.  The biggest event would be from the second half of the year when my wife was diagnosed with brain cancer, it is definitely a life changing event. It has however, shown us the love and care of all our friends and family and it has brought us all closer together. We have been drifting away from God and this event has steered us back on course and to again rely on Him for all our needs.  Jesus is Provider and Comforter, He has given us all we need to deal with this, sometimes before we…

    Christmas Idea

I received this in an email and I thought it was a great idea, so I thought I’d post it here. Christmas 2011 — Birth of a New Tradition As the holidays approach, the giant Asian factories are kicking into high gear to provide Americans with monstrous piles of cheaply produced goods — merchandise that has been produced at the expense of American labor. This year will be different. This year Americans will give the gift of genuine concern for other Americans. There is no longer an excuse that, at gift giving time, nothing can be found that is produced by American hands. Yes there is! It’s time to think…

    Amazing Grace

Amazing grace How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me Murderers, adulterers, liars; how do you forgive them or even love them?  But that is exactly what God will do if you believe His Son died for you for those crimes.  Well, you say, “I have never killed anyone.”  Jesus says, “Whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment.”  You say, “I’ve never cheated on my spouse.”  Jesus says, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”  I’m not even going to mention lying, if you say you’ve never lied…

    The Gift of Giving

There are many reasons why people donate to churches and charities: tax deduction, tradition, habit, or out of quilt, but the greatest way to give is cheerfully. (2 Corinthians 9:7) Happily giving without thought of getting something in return, which is a hard thing to do, that is why it is a gift of giving. God gives us the will to give of our money and our time. If you think about it though, it really isn’t that hard to give. First, He blesses us with riches, especially here in this country, where even the poorest have a couple bucks to get something to eat or find a soup kitchen.…

The Rich and the Rich Poor

Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away. For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits. James 1:9-11 The rich is of course the wealthy, the ones who have a lot of money. They may have inherited it, saved it, earned it, maybe even won it, but they have a lot of it. Does that mean they have a lot of happiness? Possibly, it all depends…

    Purposed in My Heart

“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself”  Daniel 1:8 “Dare to be a Daniel.”  That was the main theme while my pastor was teaching through the book of Daniel.  It’s because Daniel purposed in his heart to not defile himself and to devote his life to the living God.  He was a man filled with the Spirit and did amazing things, he was blessed with wisdom and insight and was greatly used by God.  Daniel’s life was a witness for the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, who by the end of his reign glorifies God. And at the end of the time[a] I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes…

Hell – Why is it taught in the Bible?

Hell is not a threat, it really depend on how you look at it.  To me, it’s more of a warning.  He knows what is good for us and what is bad for us, so He is letting us know that the way of man leads to death.  But if we just listen to Him and His warnings, and trust in Him, we can have life. We are not going to know everything; His knowledge is infinitely larger than ours.  Just like a parent is way more knowledgeable than his 5 year old. If the 5 year old is playing with matches near some gasoline, the dad is going to…
