Heaven Bound

Do you know if you are going to Heaven?  Not just think you are but know you are?

The answer is simple, do you believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and rose from grave giving you eternal life?  It’s simple because it is only a yes or no question, you either believe or you don’t, there is no middle ground.  If you’re thinking about it and saying, “maybe,” then that is a no and you’re heading in the wrong direction.

The Bible teaches:

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

And the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

But if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:10)

Therefore, “Whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

What Now?

If you want to accept Jesus into your heart, to have a personal relationship with Him, and to have the assurance of your heavenly destination, here is a prayer that you can say right now.

Heavenly Father, I know that I am a sinner and I ask You for Your forgiveness.  I thank you, Lord, for Your promise to forgive me and cleanse me from my sins if I confess them.  I want to turn from my sins and I ask You to give me the strength and power in Your Holy Spirit to live a life that pleases You.

Thank you for sending Your Son to die on the cross for my sins and I believe that He rose from the dead and is alive.  I invite Jesus into my heart and to be the Lord of my life.  Thank you for giving me a new life in Christ.  Help me to do Your will for the rest of my life.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior then your answer to the first question above is a definite YES.

What’s Next?

Now that you are a born again Christian, it is important to build a solid foundation for your faith and to draw nearer to God.

  1. Pray – Now that you have asked for His forgiveness, it doesn’t mean you stop talking to Him.  It is the exact opposite, you now have an open channel to God and you can talk to anytime you want or need to, 24/7.  Pray and ask Him for His help and guidance for anything and everything, the more you do it, the closer you get to Him.
  2. Read – The Bible is the user guide to life, the more you read and study it, the more you will learn how to live a life that pleases God.  You will find out how much God loves you too.  So, get a Bible, read it online, or attend Bible studies at a Bible believing church.
  3. Fellowship – It’s hard to do things on your own, so find a Bible believing church and meet other Christians.  Make some friends who share your beliefs and you can encourage each other in your walk with Christ.
  4. Witness – Share your faith with others, Jesus commands us to do this.  It is an awesome experience leading someone to Christ and you will be building up treasures in Heaven.  Pray and ask for the Spirit’s guidance on when, where, and how to witness.

God bless and we pray for your continued growth in Christ.  Welcome to the family of God.
